Product is brillant but how it arrived was in poor contrast
I'm so glad I chose the tr120 as my first sim rig, I'd say it'll be my last as this thing is solid and performs so well, with endless adjustment it can suit any person with any sim hardware.
I had a lot of fun building the rig also, love the channels in the aluminium to hide all the wiring.
Unfortunately I was missing up to 20 bolts of one size only, ended up just going to bunnings and sorting that out myself.
Few steps of the instructions are a bit vague and can lead you astray, to then need to go back and adjust or start that step again. A tad time consuming but luckily I was on holidays ha ha
Apart from that the extra bolts / nuts / washers of all sizes helps with adding basically any mod to your frame after the build **massive bonus**.
I recommend this rig to absolutely anybody, I have no regrets on buying this premium product. All aluminium was packaged carefully and unmarked in the box, all fixtures came well organised and packaged. All fixtures were really good quality and love the seated ball t slot nut, so easy to manipulate and move.. Big upgrade from the previous nut design!! Well done
This is exactly what it said it would be. It is extremely solid and customizable. Being that I am on the short side, I was able to configure this rig to fit me perfectly and keep me comfortable for long sessions. I can't say enough about how durable it is. Don't get me wrong, you will need patience with the assembly, but it is easy to understand and once you get to a certain point, you will realize that the work is going to be worth it. This is a purchase that I will never look back on and regret. I have to mention that the amount of accessories for this rig is incredible. I have a feeling that I will continue to buy them as I get more into the hobby.
The rig is solid, absolutely no flex with 28nM wheel base and hydraulic load cell pedals. I went with Trak Racer because they had availability and I preferred the design of their wheel deck, which by the way is also awesome. I really wanted a Sim Lab P1 Ultimate but they are dragging their feet to restock the US market so here we are. I have to give props to Trak Racer, they keep units in stock.
The finish of the chassis and wheel deck components aren't quite as polished or durable as they appeared in the pictures online. It feels and looks more like something purchased from Temu and is easily scratched. I really wish I had more than just two t slots on the outside of the uprights for mounting options.
Shipping was quick but poor. The boxes arrived damaged with the two outside profiles protruding through the end of the box and dented on the corners. I sent pictures to Trak Racer and their response was to proceed with assembly and alert them to any problems. As stated in several online reviews, customer support is slow to respond and not very chatty when they finally do. I did my best to hide the bent corners on the bottom and towards the pedal end of the rig.
Overall, I am pleased with the chassis but Trak Racer missed my business when it came time to purchase wheel base, pedals, etc. I believe 4 stars is more than fair considering the overall experience. I would advise anyone interested in this chassis to purchase it as it is a fine rig.
I purchased this to upgrade from a lightweight steel tube unit. I wanted something that would be rigid and have plenty of adjustments so I could get every component right where I wanted it. The TR160 did not disappoint! It is solid and well designed. The assembly was a breeze. My ten year old son managed most of it without any assistance. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a really solid cockpit, particularly if you are picky about your component locations. The adjustments are definitely worth it!
